Library is a happening place

Today at 3 p.m. there will be a pet show sponsored by the Douglas County Public Library and the Douglas County Animal Control. Bring your pet to Minden Park to win ribbons for fuzziest tail, smallest pet, biggest ears and more.

Also, both Douglas County libraries are having an art contest during the month of July. Teens 13-18 may draw, paint, or photograph any "creature" and enter to win a gift certificate at Borders Books. 8- by 10-inch entries must be received by Monday.
