Record of service: former President of Citizen Alert, a grassroots organization committed to defeating the Yucca Mountain Project; board member of HELP of Southern Nevada; board member of Legacy Society, a committee dedicated to fundraising for the Boys and Girls Club Ross is an experienced Deputy District Attorney, who has prosecuted thousands of cases and put criminals behind bars for offenses including murder, sexual assault, armed robbery, drug trafficking and child abuse.

Platform: Ross' top priorities for the office of Secretary of State are the following:

n Require corporate campaign donors to fully disclose the owners of every newly filed corporation. This will allow Nevadans to make more informed decisions on Election Day.

n Work to ensure convenient, open and free access to voting for all qualified citizens. Ross will work to ensure that our elections are free from fraud and will prosecute those who try and rig elections.

n Demand more complete corporate filings. Loopholes exist in our corporate disclosure laws that allow phony "straw officers" to hide the identity of the actual owners. These front men enable people like ex-felons, known con men and convicted swindlers to operate Nevada businesses.

n Work to ban big-money special interest groups from filing misleading ballot questions that are designed specifically to deceive and confuse Nevada voters.
