Democratic fundraiser takes place Jan. 28

The "Turn Nevada Blue" democratic fundraising dinner will be 6 p.m., Jan. 28, at the Carson Valley Inn's Shannon Ballroom.

The evening will include a buffet, no-host bar as well as guest speakers Jack Carter, candidate for the U.S. Senate, Jill Derby, candidate for Congressional District 2, Dina Titus, candidate for governor and JoEtta Brown, candidate for State Assembly. Other candidates for statewide offices have also been invited to attend.

The cost is $40 per person. There will be a silent auction and raffle with proceeds going to support democratic candidates.

"We anticipate 2006 will be a very important year for democrats," Joanne Orange, vice president of the Douglas County Democratic Women said. "We have an opportunity to not only take back the U.S. Senate and the House, but to elect a democratic governor as well as other state officials. But to accomplish that goal we need your help."

For reservations, call Bud Orange at 721-7530 or Cindy Trigg at 338-1561.
