Brenn Hill to appear at Carson Valley Inn

Carson Valley residents and visitors will have an opportunity to hear the music of award-winning Utah singer-songwriter Brenn Hill when the Red Cliffs recording artist appears in concert at the Carson Valley Inn in Minden on March 3. Hill's solo acoustic performance will feature material from his five-album catalog and spotlight songs from his current Red Cliffs Press CD, "Endangered."

Hill, who is 29 years old and lives in Hooper, Utah, has been called "the future of cowboy music." Billboard magazine says, "Hill is a bridge between western music's best traditions and the future of the genre as cowboys and cowboy singers evolve with the changing times."

In July, 2004, Hill was named male vocalist of the year by the Academy of Western Artists at the association's annual celebration in Fort Worth, Tx. In 2005, Hill had three AWA nominations: Album of the Year for "Endangered"; Song of the Year for "Buckaroo Tattoo"; and repeat recognition in the top male vocalist category. In the past, Hill has been named "Rising Star" by both the Western Music Association and the Academy of Western Artists.

"Endangered" rose to No. 31 nationally on the Americana music chart in late 2004. The first single from the CD, "Buckaroo Tattoo," reached No. 17 on the Texas Music Chart and stayed inside the chart's top 20 for eight weeks. Buckaroo Tattoo was also the No. 32 most-played single on the Texas Music Chart for 2004. In April 2005, Pickup Truck Café, the second single from "Endangered," became Brenn's first top 15 single in Texas.

The Carson Valley Inn is located at 1627 Highway 395 in Minden. Hill's concert in the Inn's Shannon Ballroom starts at 7 p.m. Tickets for the show are available at the Inn's Gift Shop, at Eastern Sierra Feed in Gardnerville or by calling 783-3426 or 781-9644.
