Valley has new source for news of the world

Readers looking for free national and international news and sports will find a new source in the Carson Valley starting today.

The Record-Courier's Today will be available Wednesday through Sunday at more than 70 locations.

Record-Courier Publisher Janet Geary said the daily was in response to readers' desire for national and international news.

"We're very excited about the addition of the Today publication to serve the Carson Valley," she said. "Look for it in many of your favorite establishments and rack locations."

The new publication features a streamlined tabloid format designed to be easier to carry.

"We've been wanting a way to provide national and international news without interfering with the local edition," said Editor Kurt Hildebrand. "The Record-Courier will continue to publish its twice-weekly local edition and the section in the Sunday Nevada Appeal, as we are now. The daily is in addition to our present offerings."
