Philharmonic league accepting members

Do you want to be part of and help put on a free, patriotic music celebration and auction on the Fourth of July?

The Sierra Philharmonic League was formed years ago to help support the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and young music students in the Carson, Gardnerville, Minden and Lake Tahoe areas. For the past 23 years the league has put on the "Pops in the Park" Music Celebration and auction at the Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa on July 4. The event is free to the public and features the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and other musical groups. Two to three thousand people attend each year and support the auction of more than 400 items and donations which is the league's main fundraiser. The Sierra Philharmonic League also presents other social and musical events during the year.

The league is looking for new members who are willing to devote some time to help the group continue its service to the community, the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, music students in the area, and at the same time enjoy social functions and music.
