Rotary 'Comedy Tribute' presented for 12th year

You don't have to be a boss or administrative professional to attend the Comedy Tribute to Administrative Professionals lunch show presented by Minden Rotary on Wednesday, April 26, in the Carson Valley Inn's Shannon Ballroom. All you need is an appetite, a sense of humor, a few friends and the willingness to take a mid-day/mid-week laugh break.

Ross Turner is the feature entertainer for this program, which takes place annually on Administrative Professionals Day - previously known as Professional Secretaries Day until changed by the International Association of Administrative Professionals in the 1990s. Whatever you call it, the Minden Rotary club is in its 12th year of marking the day with the comedy event.

Turner is an accomplished comedian and corporate speaker who entertains with a clean style. Turner appears regularly at the Punchline in San Francisco, Pepper Belly's Comedy Theater in Fairfield and the San Jose Improv. He has also performed at such nationally-prestigious venues as The Comedy Store in West Hollywood and The River Center Comedy Club in San Antonio.

His influences are Steve Martin and George Carlin when it comes to silly, witty material. Otherwise, he appreciates the honest commentary and storytelling style of such beloved comedians as Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor.

Tickets are $30, which includes lunch, tax, gratuity and the show. Advance reservations are a must and tickets can be obtained from John Hamer 783-6216, Brent Holderman 782-2208 or Mo Hernandez 782-0195.
