Clearwire launched their high-speed wireless broadband Internet service in Gardnerville March 14.
The national company, with its regional hub in Reno, sends a wireless signal from a transmitter to a receiver modem.
The PC- and Macintosh-friendly modem plugs from an electrical outlet to a computer to provide high-speed Internet access. As long as there is a power source, Internet access is possible in any Clearwire coverage area.
Clearwire is offering an opening special for a couple of plans - $19.99/month for the first three months.
