George Gunner Risner

A service for George Gunner Risner, 80, a Carson City and Dayton resident for the past 43 years, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.

A gathering of family and friends will follow at the home of Dan and Rachel Albee.

Mr. Risner died Oct. 12, 2005, in Carson City. He was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Bennington, Okla., to Jack and Minnie Risner.

He graduated from Bennington High School.

He married Edna on April 24, 1948, in Reno.

Mr. Risner was a carpenter.

He served four years in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sept. 18, 2004, in Carson City; and brother Frank on November 1967, in San Jose, Calif.

Among his survivors are his sons Dennis and James, both of Dayton; sister. Frances Cooley of Sunnyvale, Calif.; brothers Jack of Sunnyvale and Bill of Pioneer, Calif.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five nieces; and four nephews.

FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
