Laack qualifies; Bergman roughed up

Carson High graduate Terah Laack has qualified for the Northwest Conference Championships in women's track for Oregon's George Fox University.

Laack, a 2004 CHS graduate who is a freshman, qualified for the conference meet last Saturday at the Willamette meet in Oregon. Laack took fifth in the 400 meters in one minute, 3.59 seconds to qualify for the conference meet for the NCAA Division II school.

Carson High graduate Dusty Bergman was roughed up in the Los Angeles Angels Spring Training baseball game on Friday in a 6-4 win over the Texas Rangers. Bergman, a 1996 CHS graduate, came in as a relief pitcher and allowed all four runs, two earned, on two hits in two-thirds of an inning.
