A memorial service for George E. Fisher, 74, a Gardnerville resident, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Oakhill Mortuary in San Jose, Calif.
Mr. Fisher died Feb. 26, 2005, at his home.
He was born May 5, 1920, to George and Frine Fisher.
He married Josephine Eyer in 1945. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Fisher worked in construction and trucking until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Golden Rule Lodge 479 Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He enjoyed bonsai trees and he was an active member of Midori Bonsai and the California State Bonsai Association. He was a principal member of Shibui Bonsai Inc.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-46 during World War II, in Africa and Italy
Among his survivors are children Sandi Murphy, Carolyn Camarda, Gef Fisher and John Fisher; sister, Elsie Fisher and grandchildren Deanne, Rob, Frank, Tracy, Johnny and Steven.
