A funeral service for Merle Victor Bettis, 42, will be at noon Sunday at the Walton Funeral Home, 875 W. Second St. in Reno. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Diamond Crest Cemetery in Johnstonville, Calif.
Mr. Bettis died March 30, 2005. He was born Nov. 14, 1962, in Susanville, Calif., to Larry and Janice Bettis.
He was a Giants fan, avid golfer and a three-league softball player. He was manager of R Supply Co. in Carson City for nine years.
He was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents, Jesse and Edna.
Among his survivors are his father; brothers and sisters-in-law Larry Jr. and Julie and Jim and Staci; nieces Erin, Krissi and Lolli; nephews David, Dylan and Isaac; girlfriend, Michele Young; and many friends.

Walton Funeral Home in Reno is in charge of arrangements.
