Dayton volleyball falls to Whittell

The Dayton High volleyball team found out just how good Whittell is on Friday as the Warriors swept the Dust Devils 25-18, 25-11, 25-13.

The Northern 2A power also has wins over Northern 4A teams Carson and Douglas this year. "It as good for us to play a really strong team," Dayton coach Sondra McMullen said.

Amanda Sbragia had six kills, four blocks, nine digs, Michelle Bowman had three kills, two blocks, five assists and three digs for the Dust Devils. Dayton won the junior varsity match 25-21, 25-17 and lost the freshmen match 24-26, 9-25.

Dayton has a key Northern 3A match on Tuesday at home against North Tahoe. With a win, the Dust Devils would have the inside track on clinching first place in the regular season and hosting the Northern 3A playoffs.
