More than 40 participants took part in the Pepsi NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition recently held at the Boys and Girls Club of Western Nevada in Carson City. Winners were:
Girls: Ages 8-9, Makayla Ragnone, Carson City, 118-3; 10-11, Katie Borgman, Carson City, 117; 12-13, Melissa Fuentes, Carson City, 211-3; 14-15, Kaileen Bachman, Dayton, 171-9.
Boys: 8-9, Casey Wolf, Carson City, 166-2; 10-11, Austin Pacheco, Carson City, 273-6; 12-13, Shane Mooney, Carson City, 251-7; 14-15, Joseph Laverdure-Wilson, Carson City, 280-6.
The winners advance to the sectional championships to be held on Oct. 16 in Yerington. Top sectional finishers will advance to the team championships to be held on Dec. 5 in Oakland, Calif., in conjuction with the Kansas City Chiefs-Oakland Raiders game.
