Wildlife commission meeting in Elko on Friday/Saturday

The Nevada State Board of Wildlife Commissioners will meet on Friday and Saturday (June 25-26) at the High Desert Inn at 3015 Idaho St. in Elko.

The Friday meeting will begin at 1:30 p.m. and the Saturday meeting will start at 8:30 a.m.

The commission's two-day agenda will include:

A report on the Governor's Sage Grouse Team.

Elk sub-plans for Lincoln and White Pine Counties.

The proposed Overton Interpretive Center.

The wildlife data system.

The status of bighorn sheep in the Santa Rose Mountains.

The Mule Deer Policy Plan Committee.

A report on off-road regulations in neighboring states.

A request by the Nevada Wildlife Federation to amend the elk planning process.
