A graveside service for Betty Jane Washeleski, 81, a Gardnerville resident for the past 24 years, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Eastside Memorial Park in Minden.
Mrs. Washeleski died July 13, 2004, at home. She was born July 13, 1923, in New York to Hansel B. and Lucy Phillips Mead.
Before moving to Gardnerville, she lived at South Lake Tahoe.
Mrs. Washeleski worked in a bomb factory during World War II and as a nurse. She enjoyed caring for people.
She was preceded in death by her son Ricky R. Schwartz, in September 1995.
Among her survivors are her husband, Paul of Gardnerville; sons Merle L. Schwartz of Palm Springs, Calif., and Dale L. Schwartz of Huntington Beach, Calif.; daughter, Sally Gorman of Paradise, Calif.; brother, Byron Mead of Florida; sister, Dawn Mead of Tennessee; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
