Rose Marie 'Babe' Price

A memorial service for Rose Marie "Babe" Price, 78, a Carson City resident for the past 32 years, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Mrs. Price died Feb. 10, 2004, in Carson City. She was born Jan. 15, 1926, in Trinidad, Colo., to Antonio and Rose DiPaola, the youngest of eight children.

She graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Trinidad.

After high school, Mrs. Price worked at a prisoner of war camp outside of Trinidad. She moved to Los Angeles and worked at the Southern California Gas Co. After moving to Carson City, she was an executive secretary for the Department of Education, from which she retired. She was an active member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, served on the board of directors for the Democratic Women's Committee and was involved with the Retired Public Employees of Nevada.

Among her survivors are her husband of 54 years Wayne of Carson City; daughter Kathy Price of Torrance, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Mike Gower of Carson City; sisters Josephine Maio of Trinidad and Mary Chapparo of Van Nuys, Calif.; grandchildren Kristi Pieretti, Jennifer Johnson and Fred, Julie and Mark Gower; great-grandchildren Alyssa Moran, Nicolas and Austin Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Capitol City Cremation and Burial Society is in charge of arrangements.
