Wells Drury, the fashion editor of the Enterprise and the Clara Bell of the West thus describes the Greenaway costumes. They are built on the plan of a barley sack, and a broad belt is passed around the body under the arms, several inches above the usual zone line. The Greenaway girls were out in squads yesterday hunting Drury, who discreetly kept himself hid behind a spittoon in the Senate chamber all day.

100 YEARS AGO

The eight hour law passed the senate yesterday with only two votes registered against it. Senator Jackson believes it is for labor and labor unions, but says it has too many restrictions.

As an emergency measure to help keep the Carson City schools open, the Carson teachers have offered a 10 percent cut in their salaries for the remaining four months of the year. Some $13,400 of school funds are in the closed Carson Valley bank.

Ormsby County (Carson City) -- Assemblyman W.E. Baldy made his first appearance in the lower house today following a serious operation.

Announcement of the election of Carson's youngest executive, Camille Vecchiarelli as president of Carson Electric Service, was made today by co-owners Nick and Lenora Lee Vecchiarelli. She is one of the youngest presidents of a corporation in city history.

10 YEARS AGO

Las Vegas. Eldorado won its eighth straight wrestling title edging Wooster 131-128. Randy Leydecker was the Senator's highest finisher, finishing third at 160 pounds.
