Carson supervisors appoint members to boards

Carson City supervisors have selected new members to sit on the Parks and Recreation Commission and the Open Space Advisory Committee.

Stacie Wilke, general manager of the Horseshoe Club in Carson and a veteran Parks and Recreation commissioner, was selected to return for another four years.

Supervisors chose Wilke over applicant Charlene Herst, an employee with the Nevada State Health Division. Another applicant for the seat was Adam Gilbert, who did not attend the meeting.

The board also filled three seats on the Carson City Open Space Advisory Committee, appointing returning members Laura Bird and Daniel Jacquet to four-year terms and newcomer Howard Riedl to a one-year term.

In other action, supervisors juggled their own appointments to various city and state boards, committees and commissions.

Mayor Ray Masayko will remain on the RSVP Advisory Committee, the U.S. Conference of Mayors, the Statewide Transportation Technical Advisory Committee, the Nevada Commission for the Reconstruction of the V&T Railway and the Carson City Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Newly appointed Supervisor Shelly Aldean was assigned to the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and the Regional Transportation Commission. She swapped appointments with Supervisor Richard Staub to become a member of the Public Transportation Advisory Committee and traded with Supervisor Pete Livermore for a spot on the Western Nevada Development District.

Livermore assumed the spot on the Parks and Recreation Commission and will remain as mayor pro-tem, as governor's appointee to the State Land Use Planning Committee, and member of the Economic Development Vitality Committee and Carson Water Subconservancy District.

Staub will sit on the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee, Regional Transportation Commission, Community Council on Youth, Debt Management Commission and the Carson City Airport Authority.
