Yerington hoops fall short against ROP

The Yerington High boys basketball team just couldn't hold on in nearly pulling off the upset against Rite of Passage before losing 57-54 on Friday.

Yerington fell to 3-6 in Northern 3A play against one of the league's frontrunners. The Lions led 28-18 at halftime and still led 54-53 before turning the ball over with 45 seconds left.

After ROP scored to take a 55-54 lead, Yerington set up for the last shot, but turned the ball over with four seconds left.
