A service for Lois Mae Hooe Van Every, 81, a Gardnerville resident for the past 20 years, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Carson Valley United Methodist Church in Gardnerville.
Viewing will be from 5-8 p.m. Monday at FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville.
Mrs. Van Every died April 17, 2003. She was born April 13, 1922, to George Lee and Myrtle Mae Mooney Hooe, in Blanchard, Okla.
She spent her childhood in Blanchard and Wardville, Okla., and graduated from high school in Haileyville, Okla., in 1939.
Mrs. Van Every worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot in McAlester, Okla., during World War II. She moved to Hawthorne in 1947, and worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot during the Korean Conflict.
She and her husband lived on a ranch in Fallon for 20 years. After retiring, they moved to Emmett, Idaho, for three years and returned to Gardnerville in 1983.
She was a member of the Carson Valley United Methodist Church, the Genoa Homemakers, Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Rebecca Lodge in Fallon for 30 years, having served as Past Noble Grand and District Deputy President.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1984, three sisters, one brother and a nephew.
Among her survivors are her son Phillip Lee Roberts of Sparks; daughter and son-in-law Patricia and John Redman of Gardnerville; grandsons and wives Kevin and Maria Bradley of Asheboro, N.C.; Mitchell and Michelle Bradley of Sacramento; grandson Christopher Cameron Roberts of Reno; nieces Linda Gay Gardella of Bakersfield, Calif., Kathryn Gardella of Reno and Sharon Lightfoot of Hawthorne; six great-grandchildren; three great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Burial will be at the Genoa Cemetery.
