Four local girls have been chosen to help represent Nevada in the United States Junior Olympics in basketball.
Jam On It Basketball Academy has chosen Carson High's Katie Kotter and Ciara Christian, Douglas High's Andrea Honer and Galena's Joanna Hixon to represent Nevada and the AAU Pacific Association. The event will be held from July 24 through Aug. 2 in Hampton, Va.
The team roster includes: Christian; Kotter; Jessica Stewart, Reno High; Elizabeth Fox, Reno; Mackenzie Butler, Reno; Maria Moore, Spanish Springs; Cristi Crofts, McQueen; Traci Graham, McQueen; Lyndsay Gensler, Bonanza; Honer; Hixon; Lauren Gordon, Truckee; Terrin Johnston, Fallon.
