Nearly 200 jobs with newly merged Sierra Pacific and Nevada Power companies are open, so job fairs will be held Saturday at the Reno and Las Vegas headquarters.
"We had offered incentives for employees who wanted to leave because of the merger and more positions opened than we anticipated," Sierra Pacific spokeswoman Faye Andersen said Tuesday. "There were also a number of positions kept vacant by a job freeze during the merger process and those need to be filled."
Positions in such specialties as accounting, engineering, marketing, telecommunications and research are open following the July 28 merger.
The Reno job fair will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 6100 Neil Road.
