William James Brand, 76, a Holbrook Station resident for the past 12 years, died Feb. 27, 2000, at his home. He was born May 30, 1923, in Hubbard, Texas, to James L. and Nellie May Moore Brand.
He married Sylvia F. Easter June 30, 1986, in Tonopah.
Before moving to Holbrook Station, he lived in Lake Isabella, Calif.
Mr. Band served in the U.S. Army from 1946-47. He was a Christian and he enjoyed walking and traveling.
Among his survivors are his wife Sylvia of Holbrook Station; daughter Sue Raye of Whitney, Texas; sister May Dell Campbell of Covington, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at a later date.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory.
FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home, Gardnerville, is in charge of arrangements.
