While the national averages for gas prices are reaching their highest level in nine years, Carson Country prices are down slightly.
Statewide, drivers pay an average of $1.46 per gallon while the Carson City average is close to $1.40. Since September, local gas prices have fallen 13 cents.
But state and local averages are still significantly higher than the national average of $1.29, up a penny from last month. This represents the highest national average since 1990 when consumers paid $1.37 a month during the Gulf War.
