Re the May 28 front page, "GOP takes abortion out of platform.
As an average citizen with limited political acumen and a life long voting Republican (38 years), even I can see through the politics without principle of the state Republican party.
Having had the party hijacked by pro-choice feminists and political pragmatists, the Republican party now thinks it can duck the issue. Not so! Nobody in politics can have it both ways. As a pro-life Republican I will vote for the devil I know long before I'll fall prey to a slick effort to hide from the necessary, and sometimes unpleasant, discussion of principled beliefs.
I have to go now, off to reregister to a party which will at least proclaim itself fish or fowl.
