Food and military demonstration set for Railroad Museum

The Silver State Detachment, Marine Corps League of Carson City in cooperation with the Nevada State Railroad Museum will host a concession stand for the Nevada Day Weekend.

The detachment will also be featuring a display of military equipment brought from Pickel Meadow Mountain Warfare Center, located south Coleville, Calif.

The corps will be serving food and beverage on the grounds. Proceeds from the concession stand will be used within the community by means of scholarships and programs to benefit the needy families of Marines and former Marines.

Also, the Nevada Day Historic Train Rides will be offered from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Nevada Railroad Museum, 2180 S. Carson St. Admission is $2.50 adults, children 6-11 $1, and children under 5 are free.

The Nevada State Railroad Museum, in addition to the Nevada State Museum, will be open to the public, free of charge Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
