The 1999 rifle, buck mule deer, hunting season opened last Saturday morning for many of the big game management areas located in the western portion of the state of Nevada.
Big game management area Nos. 192, 194-196, 201-206, 211, 212 and 291 are all open. Those seasons will close on Dec. 5.
Management area Nos. 192, 195, 196 and 291 surround Carson City.
Only those hunters with rifle deer hunting tags received through the computerized drawing process, earlier this year, are permitted to hunt.
