Commission meets in Las Vegas

The Nevada State Board of Wildlife Commissioners will meet Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas.


The commission will meet at the Clark County Library at 25 E. Shelbourne Ave.


- The Friday agenda begins at 1:30 p.m. and includes:


A workshop on a proposed regulation change for issuing big game hunting bonus points by species rather than by type of hunt.


A request by several individuals that their current bonus points be transferred from resident to non-resident and vice versa.


Discussion on potential legislative needs for the 2001 session of the Nevada Legislature.


- The Saturday agenda will begin at 9 a.m. and includes:


Formal action on the proposed March 1, 2000 through Feb. 28, 2002 statewide fishing regulations.


First reading of a proposed amendment to add provisions for the allocation of hunter opportunity among weapon groups for elk and pronghorn antelope.


Discussion on predator management.


A request by the State of Oregon to receive some California bighorn sheep from Nevada.
