The public is welcome to attend a "Weed Warrior" training session from 8:30 a.m. to noon Feb. 22 and 24, at the Reno Cooperative Extension classroom, 5305 Mill St. in Reno, or by video in the Carson City classroom at 2621 Northgate Lane, Suite 15.
Participants will learn about weed law, biology, identification, management and control of noxious weeds such as tall whitetop and various thistles and other nuisance weeds, including cheatgrass and foxtail barley.
Registration fee is $25 and includes training materials and a "Weed Warrior" T-shirt. The Nevada Department of Agriculture will award seven Continuing Education Units to licensed pesticide applicators who complete this training. Call Sue Donaldson at 784-4848 to register by Feb. 14.
