Where to enjoy the fall colors

You don't have to travel very far to enjoy fall colors in the local area.

Those spectacular colors are right here in your very own backyard.

With most of the leaves now on the ground at the higher elevations, some of the best fall colors to be seen currently are in Carson City.

Take the time to leisurely walk, bike or drive the length of such north/south streets as Curry, Nevada, Division, Minnesota, etc., or along such east-west streets as Fifth, King, Telegraph, Long, etc.

And as a special bonus, enjoy the colors at Mills Park, the State Capitol grounds and the legislative mall.

You'll see awesome fall colors of leaves on such trees and bushes as apple, cherry, cottonwood, elm, Hawthorne, lilac, maple, peach, pear, plum, etc.

Be sure to do it when the afternoon sunlight is slanting through the leaves.

And don't forget to take your camera with plenty of color film.
