Carson Construction Watch

Northgate Lane should be open to all traffic this week.

Northgate remains closed between College Parkway and Arrowhead Drive for utility relocation work. Only residential traffic is allowed. Traffic continues to be detoured using Emerson Drive.

John Benzing, Carson City construction manager, said he had hoped to have construction out of the area by this week, but problems with utility lines at Broadleaf and Mina Way have stalled construction. The delays will keep construction workers in the area longer.

By Wednesday, trucks should be done hauling dirt from the Shenandoah detention basin.

Work on an overlay project on Carson Street is between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Work on College Parkway will be during the daytime and should begin in a couple of weeks.

Daytime delays are expected as Frehner crews begin continue an 11-mile overlay project on Highway 395 from Spooner Summit Junction to Jacks Valley Road.

State freeway work continues with minor delays on Emerson and Arrowhead drives. Flaggers are controlling traffic for trucks working in the freeway right of way. Intermittent lane closures on College Parkway are possible because of freeway work.
