Apology to NDOT over memorial site

Dear Nevada Department of Transportation: I apologize for any blame I put upon you in last Tuesday's letters to the editor section.

We were led to believe in the front page of the paper that week before that NDOT had taken down the memorial for Krystal Steadman on Highway 50.

We were misled by that story.

I am sorry for putting blame on the wrong people, and I'm sorry for putting the NDOT's emotions on a roller coaster.

(Editor's note: To clarify, the article did not report that NDOT removed the memorial. It correctly reported that NDOT had suggested to Christopher Stevens, the man who started the memorial, that he remove the items from the roadside, which he did.)
