Jay was born May 17, 1951, to Elmer and Marietta Benzel.
He spent his childhood in Ft. Collins, Colorado. He lived in South Lake Tahoe over 20 years
and the last 25 years in Gardnerville.
He is survived by his brother Bob Benzel and sister Renee Vacek both residents of Colorado.
His wife Janie Simonis was with him as he passed.
