Our beautiful and talented mother Nancy Dorene Hyde passed away peacefully at her home in Fallon, Nevada February 8, 2024.
She was born March 18, 1934, to Percis and Stanley Tachovsky in Fresno, California.
Nancy was the eldest of 6 children, two sisters and three brothers, all of whom have preceded her in death, except her sister, Bessie Silvers of Sacramento, California.
Nancy married the love of her life Robert L. Hyde in 1950. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Nancy and Bob had a wonderful marriage of 61 years prior to his passing in 2012. Their example of devotion to God, each other and their family has been exemplary to all who knew them.
Nancy and Bob moved to Fallon with their five children in 1962. Nancy went back to school in her early
thirties and became a Licensed Practical Nurse, which provided her the opportunity to compassionately serve the Fallon community in the local hospital, schools and in medical offices. Bob and Nancy also owned several businesses which provided them the opportunity to meet and bless the lives of many.
She loved her Labradors of Silver Sage and supported Robert L. as he showed, trained, and raced horses.
Nancy was an extremely talented artist, who blessed the lives of others with her exquisite artwork. She also loved to write short stories, poetry, and compiled her life’s history for her posterity.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many different callings. Her legacy is one of unwavering faith, honesty, strength and charity, a testament to Jesus Christ.
Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She cared deeply for her family. She exuded compassion, love, joy, kindness, a cheerful outlook, and had a knack for making everything beautiful around her.
Her passing brings us sorrow because we love her so much. We will deeply miss her unconditional love and positive expression of how “wonderful” life is! We are grateful that she can now be with her beloved R.L. and family in paradise.
She is survived by her sister Bessie Silvers (Bob) and her children Roxann Lewis (Gary), R. Mark Hyde (Anne), Carol Rhempp (Greg), Rod Hyde (Heather), Julie Martin (Justo), 43 grandchildren, 125 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren along with many other nieces and nephews from extended family who cherish their relationships with her.
Preceding her in death Robert L. Hyde (husband), Percis and Stanley Tachovsky (parents), Larry, Gerald, Dewey Tachovsky (brothers), Penny Tachovsky (sister), Mathew Hyde Lewis, Jared Gary Lewis (grandsons), Candace, Camille Jones (granddaughters) and Darrell Young (son-in-law).
A funeral service will be held Friday, February 16th at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 750 W Richards St. Fallon, NV. A viewing will also be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, at the Smith Family Funeral Home 505 Rio Vista Dr. Fallon, NV from 6:00-8:00 in the evening and at 9:30 the morning of the funeral service.
