Jim Wittenberg passed away January 2, 2023, at Renown Medical Center.
Born in Seattle Washington to Frank and Clarise Wittenberg, the family returned to their Nevada roots, which was Tonopah, NV after Jim was born, before moving to Reno.
Jim attended Reno schools and upon graduation from UNR, started his work career employed by the State of Nevada. As the State of Nevada Personal Director, Jim was appointed and served in this position under four different Governors.
When not working, Jim could be found hunting or fishing, usually, or just exploring the Nevada outback.
Jim is survived by his wife, Margaret and his four children, Jim, Jeff, Jay and daughter Adrienne, and grandchildren. Jim’s family and friends lost a beloved father, husband, and friend.
He will be indiscriminatingly missed by all who knew him.
