Barry Richard Jobe

June 16, 1950 - October 12, 2022

Barry Jobe, loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend passed away Wednesday, October 12 after a long courageous battle with the cancer that was originally diagnosed in 2013. He blessedly had 8 symptom-free years until last November. He left this earth peacefully at home with family and friends.

Barry’s family had moved to Carson Valley in the 1960s, where he graduated from Douglas High in 1968, and later achieved a science degree at UNR. He moved to Colorado with his wife, Robin, to pursue a career in the environmental field. Upon moving back to Carson Valley in the early 80’s, he realized the need for a custom frame shop in the area, and Lone Tree Frame Company & Gallery was born, which he operated for nearly 30 years. During that time he was a committed supporter of the arts in the valley, supporting scholarship programs for the schools, art shows, Miss Douglas County pageants, and the Genoa Cowboy Poetry events to name a few. He belonged to the Chamber of Commerce, and the Minden Business Group, where he helped establish the clock on Esmeralda in Old Town Minden.

Barry loved Carson Valley and the surrounding area. When not working he loved fly fishing in all the local lakes and streams, and belonged to the High Sierra Fly Casters. He participated as a volunteer with Reel Recovery. He also enjoyed target-shooting with his brothers, collecting western Nevada movie posters, and antique military vehicles. And he never turned down an invitation to go out to eat, or have a good scotch or martini, and of course his favorite – crème brulee.

Barry is survived by his wife of 48 years, Robin, brother Harley Jobe and his wife Rochelle, and extended family, brother David and his wife Janis, nephew Brenden with wife Rylee, nephew Conner with wife Brittney, great- nephew Casen, and great-niece Hallie, sisters-in-law Susan Noyes and Debbie Domingo, niece-in-law Tyler, and cousins Brian, Jinny, Daniel, Doris, Taylor, Anne, and Teal.

He will be greatly missed
