It is with overwhelming sadness that I announce the passing of my father Donald Charles McKinstry (84). He was the perfect gift. Donald was a Veteran of the United States Navy and served his country proudly. His career was vast in the Semi-Conductor industry. He was an active member in his local church and he loved golf.
There are so many great things I can say about my dad, his commitment to his family, his honor, his integrity, his respect for others, his intelligence and so many more great qualities. But the best quality my father had was his kindness. He always put others needs before his own. He was pure of heart and a Christian man, devoted to God.
It is without a doubt that my dad is saying from heaven, "I and the Father are one (John 10:30).
A poem for you dad:
You held my hand when I was small, you caught me when I fell. You are the hero of my childhood, and my later years as well. And every time I think of you, my heart still fills with pride. Though I will always miss you Dad, I know you're by my side. In laughter and in sorrow, in sunshine and in rain. I know you're watching over me, until we meet again.
You will be so greatly missed.
