Rickey Wayne Pickett

July 23, 1945 - April 20, 2021

Rickey Wayne Pickett, age 75, of Gardnerville, NV, left us to be with his sweet Savior on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. He was born in Maynard, AR on July 23, 1945 and passed away peacefully with his beloved children gathered around him in the place he loved most...home.

Rick was an outgoing outdoorsman who could liven up any room with his long list of hilarious life stories and a full inventory of tried and true jokes at the ready! He had a long and successful career as a Center Manager for UPS for over 30 years...but lived his best life as a retired man, hunting, fishing, riding his side-by-side and living life to the fullest.

Rick loved Nascar, Tellamore Dew Irish Whiskey, Marlboro Blacks, Country Music, Bud Lite, his family and the many friends he made over the years that he loved like family...not necessarily in that order.

He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Carol Pickett; his parents, Leonard and Juanita Goodwin and his sister, Peggy Stampfer. He is survived by his adoring children; his eldest daughter, Kimberly Carson and her husband Terry; his only son, Rickey Pickett, Jr and his wife, Jana; his youngest daughter, Melissa Ediger and her husband Jason; his 5 grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Ethan Carson, Cody & Sydney Pickett and Paityn & Brody Ediger; his brother, Gary Goodwin; along with many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Rick’s Life will be held at St. Gall’s Catholic Church in Gardnerville, NV on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 1pm with a Procession to Columbarium and Blessing of the Niche following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting remembrances be made to your local Hospice, the American Cancer Society or your local Cancer Treatment Center in Rick’s honor.

Always loved...never forgotten.
