Genoa, Nev.  — Road controls are in effect between Reno and Carson City and pretty much anywhere else above 5,000 feet. It’s snowing in Carson Valley this morning, though lightly. Still expect the streets to be slick on the ride in.

School is back in session today, so watch out for buses and kids walking to school. Tahoe school buses are picking up students at the main bus stops only.

A California man who stabbed someone at a Stateline casino in November 2015 could get probation for the battery with a deadly weapon. Toney K. Guthrie, 30, of Plumas Lake faces up to 10 years in prison, but prosecutors are recommending probation and treatment in the case.

Work along Buckeye involves installation of a gas pipeline. We’re told it won’t go as far as the new work on the road, finished last summer.

Expect snow to continue until around 10 a.m. and then slowly clear out thanks to 10-15 mph winds out of the west. The high today will hit a whopping 38 degrees. But we’ve got sunny and warmer weather coming through the rest of the week.
