The R-C Morning Report for Feb.15

Genoa, Nev. — A revision to county code may make it easier for ranchers to calve off small parcels every 15 years to raise capital or for estate planning. Planning commissioners approved the revision on Tuesday.

Highway 50 reopened on Tuesday night just in time for whatever is next in the way of stormy weather this weekend.

Red skies this morning confirmed something’s coming, though there is some question as to what it will be. A high wind watch is in effect 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday with 25-30 mph southwest winds gusting to 50 mph.

The good news is that snow levels will remain low with this first storm, down around 6,500-7,000 feet to start and lowering to 5,500 feet.

Today will be nice with a high near 57 and southwest winds 5-10 mph, so enjoy.
