The R-C Morning Report for Aug. 28
A Gardnerville man, who is denying he battered his parents with a deadly weapon in June, is up for a bail review this morning in Douglas County District Court. Matthew C. Reeves, 58, allegedly threatened to have the Mexican Mafia kill his parents. Reeves was arrested June 3 following an altercation at Holbrook Station Mobile Home and RV Park.
I hear the wildflowers up at Winnemucca Lake in Alpine County are fantastic, and that there is still snow on northfacing sides of the mountain. Might be worth the hike if you’re up for it.
I wager the fire weather watch issued from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday evening will turn into a red flag warning before the day’s out. Thunderstorms return to the forecast on Tuesday afternoon and are expected to stick around for a bit.
As for today, expect sunny skies with a high of 96. The wind will be out of the west at 5-10 mph. While 96 is warm for this time of year, we’ve got a ways to go to top the 101-degree record for today.
