The Jan. 15 R-C Morning Report

Genoa, Nev. — Sunday was crazy, with two incidents that prompted rare holiday press releases out of the sheriff’s office. I’m hoping folks settle down today.

Today is Martin Luther King Day, which means government, banks, schools and the post office are closed. We ink-stained wretches at The R-C will be scribbling away, though.

We could see some light rain tonight as a small storm rolls through Western Nevada. Snow will be above 7,000 feet. A bigger storm is expected to arrive on Thursday, with snow levels hitting the Valley floors early Friday morning.

Today expect partly sunny skies and a temperature of near 60 degrees with the wind out of the west at 5 mph, shifting to the southeast in the afternoon.
