Genoa, Nev. — Former R-C Alpine County columnist William Morgan will be at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center 6:30 p.m. for the Second Thursday Lecture Series talking about his book “Morgan’s Tahoe, A Look Back in Time.” The museum’s located at 1477 US 395 N, Gardnerville.

The population of Gardnerville continues to grow slowly, with 5,780 residents in 2017, up from 5746 in 2016, according to the town.

Daylight Saving Time is Sunday, when springing forward means we lose an hour to the time gods. Remember to check your smoke detector batteries, too.

It will be sunny and warm today, with a high near 61 degrees and a southwest breeze at 5 mph. Expect the highs to hit 60 through the next week as high pressure builds some nice spring weather in for a change.
