A Coleville woman was identified as the victim in a fatal traffic collision that occurred Saturday afternoon on Highway 395 along Topaz Lake.
Sherlan Tems was killed in a head-on collision that occurred at 3:34 p.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Tems was traveling south in a 2006 Yukon when another vehicle, a 1997 Ford F-250, crossed the center line near Highpoint, just south of the Nevada state line.
Reno resident James Howard was behind the wheel of the Ford. He suffered major injuries and was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center.
Both were wearing seatbelts. The CHP said drugs or alcohol don’t appear to be a factor in the collision.
