Here is a breakdown on Carson Valley athletes who have graduated from high school and now compete in college:


ALEXIS VON SCHOTTENSTEIN — Menlo College (Atherton, Calif.), 2015 Douglas graduate: Von Schottenstein scored two goals Saturday in Menlo’s 5-2 win at home against Soka. Her goal in the 22nd minute gave Menlo a 2-0 lead and then she capped off the scoring in the 80th minute to account for the 5-2 final score. She has two goals and two assists so far this season for the Oaks.

SILVIA FERNSTROM — Academy of Art University (San Francisco), 2015 Douglas graduate: Fernstrom started and had one shot on goal in the Urban Knights’ 1-0 overtime loss at Cal State Monterey Bay.

CAITLYN BIDART — Lake Tahoe Community College, 2016 Douglas graduate: Bidart continues to start as a center defender for the Coyotes, who are 2-3-2 so far this season. The Coyotes host West Valley today at 4 p.m. on the college field in South Lake Tahoe.


WESLEY HUNDLEY — Earlham College (Richmond, Ind.), 2014 Douglas graduate: Hundley had 11 receptions for 163 yards, one for a 69-yard TD in the second quarter of Earlham’s 31-14 loss at home Saturday against Anderson University. He rushed for 17 yards on four carries in the Quakers’ Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener.

ANDREW JENSEN — University of Jamestown (Jamestown, N.D.), 2015 Douglas graduate: Jensen had three tackles (one solo, two assists) in a 44-34 loss at Hastings College (Neb.).


SHAY WORLEY — Hartford University (West Hartford, Conn.), 2015 Douglas graduate: Worley had seven digs in Hartford’s 3-1 loss Saturday against Providence during the Columbia University-hosted Lion Invitational. She had six digs Friday in a 3-2 tournament loss against Fordham.

CARMEN SHAW — Felician College (Rutherford, N.J.), 2015 Douglas graduate: The sophomore middle blocker had nine kills and nine digs Friday in Felician’s 3-2 loss against Nyack College in Philadelphia. Shaw had seven kills, seven digs and three blocks Saturday in a 3-1 loss at home against Wilmington (Del.) University.


EMMA SPERRY — Missouri Valley College (Marshall, Mo.), 2016 Douglas graduate: Sperry shot 87 Saturday and was Missouri Valley’s No. 3 player at the Graceland Fall Invitational.
