Ty Tremaine fundraiser Wednesday in Reno
A fundraiser is being held Wednesday in Reno to help send Carson Valley product Ty Tremaine to France this summer for the U.S. at the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE).
Tremaine, a 2014 Douglas High School graduate and 2015 SuperEnduro junior world champion, will appear as part of the Bike Night Wednesday activities from 5:30-8:30 p.m. hosted by P.J. Company Restaurant and Saloon, located at 1590 S. Wells Ave. in Reno. Tremaine will sign autographs from 6-6:30 p.m., to be followed by a raffle and live auction at 7. T-shirts will also be available for sale.
Proceeds will go to help Tremaine cover the expenses to compete at the ISDE, which is set for Aug. 28-Sept. 2. The event, which dates back to 1913, is billed as the world’s largest annual off-road motorcycle competition and as the annual FIM Enduro World Championship for National Teams.

Douglas High girls tennis conditioning set for July
Douglas girls tennis coach Dan Hannah has announced a preseason conditioning schedule that will start with voluntary sessions on July 12 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on the high school courts. Participants will meet twice a week on July 12-13 and July 19-20, then go to three times on July 24, 26-27 and July 31, Aug. 2-3. Mandatory practice begins on Aug. 11.

Boys soccer summer program starts June 28
Douglas High boys soccer coach Chase Zumpft has announced dates for the program’s voluntary summer workout schedule.
Between June 28 and Aug. 4, fitness sessions will be held Monday and Thursdays from 7-8:30 a.m. on the high school track, while sessions for goalkeepers will be held Wednesday and Fridays from 6-8 p.m. on the soccer field.
Participants need to bring running shoes as well as cleats. They also need to complete preseason workout forms, which are available at the school’s Tiger Cage, and also have completed their physicals.
Zumpft also announced that Douglas will host a junior varsity tournament during the final week of August.

Douglas alumni golf tournament on June 16
The Douglas High School football program will host its sixth annual alumni golf tournament June 16 at the Carson Valley Golf Course.
The tournament starts at 9 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the Carson Valley Country Club.
The cost is $125 per player or $400 for a foursome. Hole sponsorships are $100.

Nevada hosts hoops camp
The University of Nevada men’s basketball team will host two basketball camps on June 26-29 and July 31-Aug. 3 at the Boys and Girls Club in Reno.
Camps, available to boys entering third-seventh grades, will run from Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and offer individual and group instruction on technique, drills and fundamentals.
