Softball: Tiger JVs sweep doubleheader from Galena

The Douglas High School junior varsity softball team swept a pair of games from Galena Saturday, 8-4 and 13-1.

Teena Simpson pitched both games. In the first game she allowd four hits while striking out one.

In the second, she allowed one hit and struck out four.

Douglas played strong defensively in both games.

The Lady Tigers collected 10 hits in the first game as Morgan Gunnell and Delaney Jacobsen each had two hits.

Layne Waggoner had two hits including a double, Kali Sargent had three hits, including two doubles and Savannah Allmett had a double.

The Tiger bats came alive in the second game as Allmett blasted two doubles and Douglas’ first home run of the year.

Mackenzie Maiden was 3-for-3 with a single, double and triple. Waggoner had two doubles, Emily Downer had two hits and Simpson, Gunnell and Sargent each had a hit.
