Senior Grant Denny was 18th and sophomore Wyatt Denny was 25th.

On the girls’ side, Douglas sophomore Lauren Babbitt finished 29th out of 52 racers while freshman Elissa Galvez was 30th.

Babbitt had the team’s best time on the first run whie Galves had the best second-run time.

In the junior varsity race, Robert Furin took 12th, earning a varsity position for the next race.

Kyler Forbes had a fast first run but missed a gate on his second run.

“You can always judge how the students felt about an event by the bus ride home,” coach Dave Blum said. “If the students didn’t feel they did well, the bus ride can be very quiet and solemn.

“This was not the case after this race. Everyone had a great time and we all feel we did very well. We are only getting better with each experience.”
