Skiing: Tigers 5th at Alpine Meadows

The Douglas High ski team took fifth place overall at Alpine Meadows Monday in the second Tahoe Basin Ski League race of the season.

The Tiger boys were fourth and the girls came in sixth.

North Tahoe won the overall, boys and girls races while Truckee was second and South Tahoe finished third. Whittell placed fourth overall, followed by Douglas, Carson and Incline in order.

Douglas’ Grant Dunkelman finished 11th in the slalom race to lead the boys, posting a time of 1:33.61. Roy Reagan was 18th (1:42.15), Ben Meyer was 24th (1:52.78); Eric Kleiner was 25th (1:53.72), Jon Pelcher was 27th (1:55.72), Logan Lalonde was 30th (1:59.69) and Bradley Loshbough was 32nd (2:01.98).

On the girls’ side, Sam Crawford finished 21st (1:53.54), Kelsey Lalonde was 27th (2:02.27), Lindsey Adams was 35th (2:16.92), Holland Chambers was 36th (2:17.78) and Kate Hill was 41st (2:02.47).

In the junior varsity race, Ryan Kochen took sixth (1:44.86), Jake Forvilly was 14th (2:04.17), Cole Pinther was 18th (2:08.82), Sam Wilson was 19th (2:10.17), Logan Killian was 23rd (2:35.30) and Casey Shaffer was 24th (2:35.97). In JV girls, Dakota Boisseau took fourth (2:34.66).
